In this Page, I’m going to compare some of the most known payment processors.
So, here it goes:
By popularity, by far the most well known are: PayPal, e-gold, MoneyBookers and Stormpay. Not exactly in this order but they are used by the most people on this planet.
PayPal should be the most wide known but with its chargebacks and limitations to some countries; it doesn’t quite get the first spot maybe. Though it has bought the biggest auction site eBay, it still tends to attract negative reactions from people.
e-gold is the widest-spread across the world, but because transactions are irreversible, and the fact that you are sending and receiving e-metal, has it’s drawbacks. Combined with the fact that someone cannot buy directly gold with the main site, and needs a third-party exchanger makes e-gold a little bit not so popular, but it still is the number one if you look at the number of people using it.
MoneyBookers is maybe the most fair payment processor, and people tend to love-it for this, tough it tends to stand into the shadows, not having so many adepts. And because not so many people use-it to send money, it has less people using it to receive money. But having its child site GameBookers, it tends to grow rapidly.
Stormpay has a long story of ups and downs, together with some scandals, but it has too many services to look for, and because of all this its’ popularity has decreased rapidly. Now it seems to be stabilized but not so many people are using it anymore. Having also country limitations it will remain obscure until it proofs its professionalism again.
The newcomers are also knocking on the popularity door and the most known of them are: AlertPay , IntGold, GreenZap, EMO, E-bullion, AsianPay, Webmoney, and when it’s not in trouble or changing something UniClear.
None will win the battle, but eventually there will be about 3 to 6 of them witch will remain the best, and many small others who will push back from behind the scope and perfection on this battle. We hope for the best.
